Everett, Wash., Feb. 28, 2025 -- BLR Aerospace, LLC, announced it has received approval from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of New Zealand for its FastFin® System for the Airbus AS355, following a successful partnership with Skywork Helicopters, New Zealand's leading provider of helicopter services.
The BLR kit for the twin-engine AS355 builds on the success of the H125/AS350 FastFin® System. It features an Advanced Tailboom Aerodynamic Cowling (ATAC), a tailboom strake, and vortex generators. The system enhances directional control and hover stability. The increase in available right pedal and improved yaw axis management reduce pilot workload and provide better control during precision hover-hold operations in challenging crosswinds.
"Skywork has been a very professional partner on this project," said Clay Bringhurst, president of BLR Aerospace. "We are grateful for the opportunity to work with them to bring this certification to fruition and expand the BLR FastFin’s reach to yet another platform."
